The purpose of temporary fusing is to make sewing easier and to reinforce the stitching. The fusing intensity does not need to be strong as it is merely to prevent puckering during stitching.Permanent fusing is used when the shape and style of the garment intact. Therefore after washing and long periods of use, the interlining must stay fused. If the fusing temperature, pressure and timing are not correctly set, the intensity of the fusing will differ. Before fusing, the type of material and interlining being used and the desired intensity of the bond must be considered. (a) Permanent fusing must stay fused after washing or dry cleaning. (b) Temporary fusing is simply to make sewing easier and can become separated after the garment is completed. ＜TYPE OF INTERLINING ADHESSIVES＞ The interlining adhesive melts when heated, sticking to the material. Then, when cooled a stable bond is formed. These days the most commonly used adhesives are as follows; POLY-AMIDE POLY-VINYL CHLORIDE POLYTHYLENE ETHYLENE VINYL ACID COPLYMER (EVA) POLYESTER ＜TYPE OF INTERLINING ADHESSIVES AND FUATURES＞ TYPE SPECIFICATION MAIN PURPOSE TEMPERATURE DRY-CLEANABLE WASHABLE NOTE POLY-AMIDE Wide variety of uses. For use with all dry cleanable garments. 120〜160℃ Especially adopted to dry cleaning Not suitable for high temp Low temp fusing(100-130)is available POLY-VINYL CHLORIDE Soft Finish For use with all garments, especially thick materials 130〜160℃ Withhands drycleaning Good Results   HIGH DENSITY POLYTHYLENE Resistant to all washing and cleaning For top fusing of shirts 150〜180℃ Withhands drycleaning Very Good Results Needs high temp and pressure for fusing LOW DENSITY POLYTHYLENE Can be fused by iron. Temporary Fusing 130〜160℃ Adhesive Remelts Poor Results Stitching is neccesssary ETHYLENE VINYL ACID COPLYMER (EVA) Can be fused by iron. Temporary Fusing 120〜150℃ Adhesive Remelts Poor Results Stitching is neccesssary SAPONIFY DEGENEATE EVA Can be fused by iron. For knitted garments,small parts and tape. 120〜150℃ Average Average Results Melts in TETRACHL OR.ETHYLENE at over 170 POLYESTER Especially effected when used with polyester For polyester garments.FIXING 130〜160℃ Very good only when used with polyester. Good Results
